Battery Assembly Process

A 18650 Li-ion battery is a type of rechargeable battery in which lithium ions move from the negative electrode to the positive electrode during discharge and back when charging.

Li-ion batteries use an interlaced lithium compound as one electrode material, compared to the metallic lithium used in a non-rechargeable lithium battery. The electrolyte, which allows for ionic movement, and the two electrodes are the constituent components of a lithium-ion battery cell.

Cells with a cylindrical shape are made in a characteristic “swiss roll” manner, which means it is a single long sandwich of positive electrode, separator, negative electrode and separator rolled into a single spool.

Ternary material

A battery’s energy density is critical when it comes to its size, how long it can power the electrical device, and even the battery safety.

Battery positive electrode material

Ternary materials refer to the three elements of nickel, cobalt, and manganese, named NMC in the industry.

The battery with nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary battery material as the positive electrode is safer than lithium cobalt oxide batteries.

01 Large capacity

02 Long life

The 18650 lithium battery has a very long service life. In normal use, the cycle life can reach more than 500 times, which is more than twice that of ordinary batteries.

The voltage of 18650 lithium battery is generally 3.6V, 3.7V and 4.2V, which is much higher than the 1.2V voltage of nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride batteries.

  • Various safety performances are completed in one go, and the number of cycles is greater than 500.
  • High temperature resistance performance is good, and the discharge efficiency reaches 100% under the condition of 65℃.
  • In order to prevent the short circuit of the battery, the positive and negative electrodes of the 18650 lithium battery are separated. Therefore, the possibility of short circuit phenomenon has been reduced to the extreme.
  • Generally, a protective board is installed to avoid overcharging and overdischarging of the battery, which can also prolong the service life of the battery.

05 No memory effect

It is not necessary to empty the remaining power before charging, which is convenient to use.

06 Small internal resistance
